Knowledge Test: Chronic Fatigue


The following criteria is from The Centers for Disesase Control and can help you decide if you need to see a physician who works with Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

If you have a new onset of fatigue take the following test. If you score positive for Chronic Fatigue then you need to see a physician in order to exclude other clinical conditions.

IMPORTANT: In filling out the test keep two things in mind

  1. The symptom or physical sign must have begun at or after the time of fatigue onset.

  2. The symptom or physical sign persisted or recurred over 6 months.

Symptoms

Place a check by the symptoms you are experiencing.

Mild fever or chills

Sore throat

Painful lymph nodes (in front or back of neck, or in armpit)

General muscle weakness

Muscle aches or discomfort

Prolonged fatigue after exercise

Generalized, new headaches

Painful joints

Brain fog; decreased concentration or mood swings

Sleep problems

Abrupt onset of main symptom complex


Physical

Place a check by the physical signs you are experiencing.

Low grade fever

Minor, simple sore throat without phlegm

Palpable or tender lymph nodes (in front or pack of neck or in armpit)
